Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, November 29 - Canadian scientists announced that they have identified a young people's cigarettes with nicotine addiction-related genes. Experts believe that this study found that quitting smoking would be helpful.

According to the British "Tobacco Management" magazine reported that this gene, called CYP2A6, which will reduce the removal of the two variants of the liver enzyme levels of nicotine. This means that the removal process nicotine more slowly, the brain is quickly exposed to high concentrations of nicotine, so smokers a pleasurable feeling, and gradually the cigarette addiction.

Scientists at McGill University in 1300 to investigate 13-year-olds, of which 281 were smokers. Scientists in the blood samples of smokers found the CYP2A6 gene and its variants. 30 months later, the scientists who have done a follow-up, 281 smokers, 30% become dependent on cigarettes. Survey data show that those changes in CYP2A6 gene with the normal people and compared the gene, the former on the number of cigarette addiction is the latter's 3 times.

Scientists believe that new findings help explain why some young people to be able to quickly addicted to cigarettes. Genetic changes also make young people become insensitive to the toxicity of nicotine, the initial reaction of dizziness and nausea will soon be overcome.

"Tobacco Management" magazine, published last year showed that smoking killed 5 million people per year of life.
